getting a perm will damage ur hair, it will give you tons of split ends, fried ends, dry hair and dead ends. straightening ur hair every other day wont damage ur hair. a perm will

ask your hairdresser what she thinks is the better option. . im gonna say getting it permanently straightened. .. because even at the hair dresser (or mine at least) they try to avoid using the straight iron . .most people will recommend blow drying your hair straight though

You could always get a natural no chemical perm. Like phytospecific, I used it once and my hair came out really straight and soft. And it's really healthy for your hair. But it is a little expensive, $60. Or go to this website: treasureslocks.com and they have one too, that's cheaper.

when u straightening ur hair everyday it damages it bu making it flat and uneven cuz it pulls the hair , u should get it relaxed that way u can have it straight and no more heat cuz heat does damage the hair especially when ur using it everyday it also makes it shedd.

I have considered the same thing- I am an every other day/ every day hair straightener. But I think I am going to chemically straighten my hair. Try the brand "one 'n only" and get their kind for tinted/chemically treated hair. It's gentler, I think. Also, at first keep it in your hair for 3/4 to 1/2 the time they say to avoid damaging your hair. You want it to still have a little life in it too, not just have it go totally pin straight and flat.

First, make sure that you are using a ceramic straightener-and a straightening shine booster lotion for hair. Got 2 be has one Everybody has one you can buy then in the grocery store. Be careful you should only straighten your hair 3x max per week. Also when you style your hair it must be completely dry. Air drying overnight is the best. When you blow dry the roots are still damp and will kink as they dry. You might also try a straightening shampoo for your daily use. and the straightening lotion when you have a day that you don't straighten. This will give you a good look and not fry your hair. Chemical straightening is sooo bad for you hairs health. good luck!!!

Now this is a problem. I'm not sure about getting it chemically straightened, but straightening your hair every day will DESTROY it. My suggestion is either one really, but if you choose to straighten every day, it's what you do before and what you use that matters. My little sister has hair that is thick and kind of wavy, too, and she likes to have it straight, so she straightens it every day. The thing is, the straightener she uses isn't a very high quality one. It's decent, but my advice is to talk to a hairstylist about what straighteners work the best without damaging your hair (or damage it the least), that way you can save your hair before it's too late. Also, you should use a protector spray or another protective hair product to keep your hair safe from heat damage. Don't worry, my sister and I both use a protector spray and it won't make it harder for you to straighten your hair. :) It just keeps the amount of damage you're doing to your hair at a minimum. Honestly, though, if you keep doing what you're doing, then you'll completely ruin your hair.

I'd say chemically straighten it, b/c daily heat it even worse. A one time chemical application to straighten opposed to daily heat. you choose. Although I'm black its the same concept --I could flat iron my hair 3-4 times a week, but why when I could get a relaxer that will straighten my hair for months to come. With a relaxer just make sure you keep hot styling tools of your hair and give it continual moister.

Split ends are going to happen when you're styling your hair on a regular basis. I would recommend using a hair serum of some sort before straightening to help minimize damage. If your hair is really thick you may want to consider getting it thinned out. I straighten mine a lot as well and have found that if I let my hair air dry (wash it night before) then straighten it, it takes a lot less time and I have to make fewer passes with the iron.
Good luck!

Some guy on Oprah said if you're going to straighten your hair then only turn the heat 1/2 way up, it still works just as well but is alot easier on your hair!
