Do maintenance hair cuts for split ends really make much of a difference in the speed of growing out

I am a guy who wants to grow his hair out to about neck length. I have thick, curly hair, it is healthy and mildly frizzy.

No. The hair follicle has no idea if the ends have been trimmed!!

Hair growth rates can vary by season, age, diet and health, but not by whether you cut them or not!!!

That's what they say, but my hair grows like mad and I rarely cut it.

I think that the only reason cutting your split ends helps the growth and look of your hair is that i minimizes breakage.

It won't make the hair grow any faster from your roots, but it will keep the hair you have from breaking which in the end makes your hair longer.

usually, but for guys I think it is different. My husbands hair is curly and the back is neck length when wet. Just buy some gel and be patient. Good luck!

the fastest type of growing hair is curly and the slowest is straght and wavy is in the middle

Regular haircuts trim split ends and breakage making your hair look it's healthiest while growing out. It doesn't help your hair to grow any faster though. Just continue to get regular haircuts every 6-8 weeks.
