Ahhhh!! The sun & chlorine from my pool is drying out my hair!?

What can I use to make my hair shiny and healthy again. And please nothing for color-treated hair, I have naturally blonde hair and a VERY sensitive scalp. My mom gave me somehting for color-treated hair and it burnt my scalp!! :( And I've tried using more conditioner, I use Herbal Essences, and it's not helping. What can I use or do??? :(

I suggest you get a shampoo the speacilizes on your case, if you wash your hair with cold water like after you shampoo then it moisturises it =D so that will also help

buy ultra swim shampoo and conditioner. they sell it at drugstores in the shampoo isle. It gets rid of chlorine after you swim. also, try wetting your hair before you hop in the pool- your hair will soak up the clean water and then won't have room for much chlorine.

idk what will get rid of it, but to further prevent it wet your hair with regular water [NOT pool water] before you go in a pool because your hair wont take in as much chlorine that way.

You could try cassia. It will go back to shiny and healthy and it won't color it. Some people consider cassia a henna, and it is NOT. It has many of the same properties when used on hair, but there is NO dye in it.

You can buy it online, mix some up with tea or just distilled water. Do an allergy test first, put a little of the finished paste on your hand and wait and see, then you don't have to worry about burning when you use it.

I love this website, it has the highest quality henna, indigo, and cassia that I've found online.

Wear a swim cap. Herbal Essence is crap, go to a Salon and get real product. BTW the wetting thing is BS if u spend any amout of time in the water. signed... Long Time Competetive Swimmer

Just a thought, not a recommendation, but Loreal makes a shampoo for kids calls Sport or something like that. It is specifically for use after swimming. I'm not saying your a kid, but it is a gentle product and for use after being in chlorine. It couldn't hurt. If you are swimming with your family, you can use a swimming cap--not very attractive, but it does the trick. Also, look for a conditioner and shampoo by Nexus that's called constructor or something like that. You can get it at Rite Aid and it's a little pricey but you don't use much. Good luck.
