My straightener is supposely not suppose to damage my hair as much (it costed oiver $100 and its some special material) but its starting to feel really dry and I don't know what to do..Does anyone have any tips to help make my hair more healthy? Thanks.

you can buy stuff to put in your hair right before you start straightening it to make it get some nutrients back into it. my favorite cream is thermasilk cream. it comes in a bottle that stands up on the top and you can put it in when it's wet, right before, and right after you straighten your hair and it doesn't make your hair oily or anything. thermasilk is a whole range of products designed especially for hair that get blowdried and straightened everyday.

i do the same things, just get a shampoo for reducing split ends or moisturizing shampoo. concentrate on ends instead of whole head and dont put on roots! thats what shampoo is for.

I use hair oil. I straighten my hair at night and I use the oil and I wear a scarf to bed. Then in the morning it would be nice and straight.

Every hair straightener damages your hair especialy with excessive useage. same with dying it. or blowing it out. however i dyed my hair a million times and used to straighten it every day too and when i went to get my hair cut i talked to the lady about it. and she recomeneded you go to duane reed or cvs or walgreens whatever is near you and get the hot oil treatment for your hair. mine was under 10$. and you put that in and it's supposed to make your hair a bit healthier. also when you straighten it put stuff on iot before it , so your hair doesnt get as damageed. =]

constant exposure of hair to heat rips the hair of its natural oils. U need to condition ur hair more with good mosturisers like john frieda hair serum or loreal hair serum. also try oiling ur hair 2 hours b4 washing. this will soften and condition it in preparation for straightening.

Try wrapping your hair every couple of days...it's not healthy to straighten your hair daily...that's why I wear weaves...so I don't care about frying the hair....my other suggestion would be switch it up...maybe you can wear your hair straight one day and wavy or in a ponytail the next....buy some headbands pull your hair back....other than that buy a good deep conditioner...pantene(?) has a good one

1st of all applying any heat to your hair will dry or fry your hair.even the sun can dry out your hair. i recomend o nce a week applying a hair beauty regiment like this is what idea 1st appply about a tbl spoon of olive oil to your hair2nd put one egg yoke and start from the ends of your hair about half way to your hair3rd take about as much conditioner as use but replace that with mayo.after you have all 3 on your head cover it with plastic wrap or a shower cap and leave it on for about 30 mins or so i know it sounds really nasty but it works every time

I straighten mine every day too. just get a leave in conditioner that repairs damage from styling appliances. Paul Mitchell has a good one

Try using Biosilk oil while you straighten. It helps to protect the hair from the heat, and the heat infuses the oil into the hair, keeping it silky smooth.
Also, make sure you have a very moisturizing conditioner, but condition the last 4-6 inches of your hair twice as often as you condition the whole head normally.
Consider adding a leave in conditioner as well.
Also, make sure when you are straightening your hair that it is COMPLETELY dry.

STOP STRAIGHTENING! This is sooooo harmful to your hair, they should put warning labels on the package! Even "smart" straighteners that have ceramic plates and aren't supposed to cause so many problems. Heat is bad for your hair, and you'll need to let your hair HEAL. Read on for easy and quick things you can start doing that will make a BIG difference.
Daily to make your hair look and be more healthy, use a quarter-sized amout of aloe vera to scrunch through your tresses after showering. Next time you go shampoo and conditioner shopping, buy things that have vitimans (like D and E) and aloe vera added, and that specialize in protecting against and healing damage (Pantene and Aussie have specialized lines of these.) Also buy a heat-protection product (normally a gel or spray) to put in you hair BEFORE you use your straightener. And mind you, it better be a special occasion when you DO use it, instead of "everyday". Got that?
Good Luck with your Locks!

I cause a lot of heat damage to my hair as well, so I use "tresseme heat tamer". It works really good, smells good, and is like $5 a bottle! I would definately recommend you using this product. I started using it about a year ago, and I still use it everyday!
