I need advice from people who straighten their hair everyday.?

I know straightening your hair everyday is bad for you. But I like to do it atleast a little everyday to make my hair more neat. But I'm not really using any products and I am FRYING my hair!!! So what products on my hair should I use to keep my hair moisturized and healthy. If you don't mind please mention the type of product you use (ie moisturizing shampoo) then recommend what specific brand/type you use (ie Brand A's Moisturizing Shampoo). Secondly, can you give me a technique to quickly straighten my hair. Like if I should put something in it before I start.

My hair-type: wavy/somewhat curly, thick. It tends to frizz, split ends and is "fryed". My hair straightener is a HotTools Ceramic 1". (But I'm not interested in buying a new one). And yes I do get a haircut every 4-6 weeks.

PS. Please suggest brands that you can buy in a drug store. Since I'm a teen, I can't really afford anything else.

I know its alot of details but THANKS SO MUCH if you answer!! My hair needs help!

I use Herbal Essences strengthening conditioner (3 bucks). I have the same hair type as you described and it works really well on me. On days that you aren't going anywhere and are just staying in the house, give your hair a break and don't straighten it. It does your hair good. Make sure it is completely dry too. Don't use any spray on stuff (like the stuff you spray on dry hair) cause that will just fry your hair more, even though it says it helps. I also use tresemme healthy volume conditioner, it comes in a big bottle and it's like 4 bucks. Pretty cheap. And as for the hair straightener; go to sally beauty and look for like a jilbere de paris (spelled that wrong probably) hair straightener, it's thick and has a soft outside. It's only 30 bucks and it straightens very well.

Its good that you're using a ceramic straightener because it is better for your hair than the other ones and it kills bad bacteria. And it won't dry out your hair like the others.

But make sure you use something to keep your hair moisterized. When you use conditioner, leave it in for a few minutes before you rinse it out and that will help. Also, you might want to use a deep conditioning/moisterizing treatment at least once a week, or more often if you like. I use Pantene Pro-V deep moisturizing treatment and it keeps my hair healthy and silky even though I use my straightener every day. Before I started using it, my hair was all dried out too..good luck!

Girl,

You've got a bit of a problem. Its called FIA . . FLAT IRON ABUSE... and it can be so bad some people have to go to REHAB for it because they have burned all of their hair off.

I can tell you some very good products that exist... but you cannot buy anything worth a damn at a drug store. So its pointless. The Flat Iron you have is one of the worst and is the cause of "some" of your problems as well.

I will tell you the only thing that might help you....you need to start reading my hair blog ... Its main point is "HEALTHY HAIR" and HOW TO GET IT%26gt;....and start doing some of the things for damaged hair.... and then maybe you can turn things around...Start at the beginning and read it throughly... or you are going to burn your hair off. Then you will REALLY have a problem...

I do not mean to be mean.....I mean to help you

if I don't ...no one will

I treat many many girls for this out here in LA, its been around here probably longer than everywhere else....We have had FLAT IRONS for 10 years out here.

I will be glad to help you with any questions at all...........you can write at the end of any post in the comments section of the Blog

I used to straighten my hair everyday for a year, and i used stuff that they say is supposed to stop your hair from getting heat damage. But my hair still got really bad. I had to cut it all off and start over... The best thing for your hair is to cut down on straightening it.

i straighten my hair almost everyday.. unless im not going out.

no matter what straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers are going to damage your hair but just try buying a spray, like in sally's or ulta that says something like heat resistant. or ask someone at the store you go to.

if you have time can you answer my question.

go to Sally's Beauty Supply they carry a product line called one%26amp;only Ceramic Silk, it is in a maroon tube and bottle, states right on the front thermal protection, I use the shampoo and the ironing creme. it preserves color, straighten and shines. the shampoo protects and repairs the creme straightens and smoothes. also I paid less there than you will at a drug store for their products

to protect your hair condition it and use heat protection (they have different brand google it) for your hair also make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry before you start straighting it.

I hope this helps
