Damaged hair??

ok, i have a bunch of shorter hair underneath the longer stuff. I think it's because of my hair breaking off. it's about 4 in shorter than the longer stuff. Should i cut it all to match that lenth, or let it grow in underneath and cut it later?. My hair is pretty healthy and thick, so it doesn't look funny. I was just wondering incase it would effect the growth of my hair? i've stopped using heat stylers on it because the amount seemed to be growing. It takes up about1 ich of my scalp. it's about 8 in long, the rest 14 in

masage coconut oil into ur hair and scalp every night n wash it out in the morning n when ur hair gets longer get it cut so its even (coconut oil makes ur hair grow faster u can also put it on ur eye lashes near the root and they will grow over night)

if you cut your hair, not only will your hair be way short, it may break even more. i would say to just let it grow out. also make sure you're taking vitamins because that can help hair growth. also, try shampoos and conditioners with a strengthening cream in it. i know garnier has a great line along with herbal essences.

It wouldn't effect the growth of your hair but if u wanna go punk u can cut your hair an dye red or not.

Damaged hair??

dont cut ur hair. use a clarifying/moisturizing shampoo and moisturizing conditioner, and also look at the burt's bees avocado hair products, they help rejuvenate hair and enhance it to look its best, as well as encouraging it 2 grow. hope that helps!

If you just get the ends trimmed once a month, you wont have split ends that cause your hair to break and split all the way up. Also, get it trimmed on a "New Moon" This really works!

Basic heat treatments, such as irons (straightening or curling) or blow dryers shouldn't cause so much damage that your hair is breaking off. Please talk to your stylist to ensure that you are using them properly. You may be using them for far too long, which may burn your hair - and maybe your scalp. You may also want to talk to your stylist about proper conditioners, including leave-in conditioners. It sounds like your hair may be overly dry - at least in some areas. And even if it looks overall healthy to you, it may not be. So a GOOD stylist (not your friend or someone who knows a stylist) can give you tips. Because even though it's a small area now, it can grow if you continue styling your hair as you're doing.

As you noted, heat styles do seem to be causing damage, but again, they shouldn't damage your hair to the point of breaking. But until your hair is healthy again, you may want to look into ionizers. These are new ways of drying and straightening (or curling) hair without using heat. For example, the straightening rods on some can easily be touched without burning your fingers, yet will leave your hair straight (if that's how you style it). Analogously, ionizing dryers will dry hair but give it a healthier glow. They may cost more, but as people don't buy driers that often, and as it will leave your hair healthy, I think it'll be worth it for you.

Good luck!

P.S. Sometimes hair does simply break off if too long. Again, conditioners will help. I recommend a stylist because using typical store bought conditioners, while better than nothing, usually don't do enough for truly damaged hair. Salon conditioners, which again cost more but are far more effective, are probably what you need.
