Dark brown hair to a light brown at home?

i don't have the money for a professional salon. my hair is naturally dark brown and then about 6 months ago i dyed it jet black...2 weeks ago i bought a light brown hair dye and had poor results with just a tint lighter in my hair. my hair is in healthy condition its soft, and thick. i want to dye it to a light brown. how do i do this, what specific dye is good for this? i heard i'll need bleach which im worried about but with time and patience i think i can work it out. i also have nearly black looking eyebrows how do i get that to match my hair? thanks

Try going to a store that sells supplies to hair professionals. Ask them what to do. They are usually more knowledgeable then your normal store clerk.

If you are doing it at home you will have to bleach it first using a blonde hair dye, and only bleach it to the orange stage, do not let it get blonde. Then put light brown over it the next day. Clairol is the best brand of dye to use and never buy anything by Garnier!!
