Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I dyed my hair blk last summer and I am letting it grow out, my natural hair colr is lgt-med brown. I have like maybe 2 1/2 inches of black left on the tips and I am very impatiently waiting to get my hair highlighted, my hair stylist ( whom I trust) said that he could strip it and apply a color close to my natural color and my hair was strong enough for it, then I can later get my highlights. I had a bad experience w/bleach w/someone that really didn't know what they were doing but a bad experience is a bad experience. My hair is really healthy and I DO NOT want it damaged, has anyone succuessfully gotten their hair stripped w/o damage? I will mention that I am black and though I have a finer grade of hair its still black hair and I do have a relaxer. Should I do this or just be patient for 6 more months?

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I have never had my hair stripped and I never will. Stripping the hair requires chemicals and will dry your hair. your stylist just wants to make a little extra money.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

I think its almost impossible to strip your hair without severely damaging it. I would just wait it out, you don't want to risk damaging your hair that much.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

DONT DO IT, it will ruin your hair.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

No matter how you get your hair stripped, it's going to damage it a little bit. But with the products your hairstylist will use, they're MUCH better than a product you could get at the store. If you really can't wait, you can either cut off the last 2 inches or so and get it high lighted, or you can have him color correct it. If you do chose to have him color correct it, I would suggest using a deep conditioner once a week for about 3 weeks and then you can go get your hair highlighted.

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

u cant strip ur hair without damaging it... cuz all they use is bleach and peroxide because i got my hair stripped and it made it look fried.... so now i am using treatments and trimming my hair so make it healthier again

Has anyone ever had their hair stripped?

Money hungry? Honey you are the one who asked him about this- he did not suggest it. You mentioned several times how you do not want to damage your hair. You should just be patient. You know how long it took to grow, don't take a chance. Wearing it up with the ends hidden will buy you some time. Best of luck.

Help in hair growth department please.?

Okay, I completely understand that there aren't special things that can make your hair grow overnight from short to long, but I want to come back to school with longer hair! [brandnew milly XD] Anyhow, do you think it would be possible to get my hair to grow in two monthes. It's currently relaxed, so it isn't too thick or unmanagable. My hair is about nine inches *groans* I'm not looking for a huge change really, length and volume is all. My hair is pretty healthy though; that's why I don't see why it doesn't seem like it's growing. I want someone who really really know their stuff I'd hate to ruin my head of hair.

thanks a ton ; ]

P.S. I have African Americam hair.

Help in hair growth department please.?

I'm sorry to say this, but 2 months isn't a long enough time period to grow your hair much. But for about a 6 to 12 month period, you can make sure you trim the ends every 6 wks (just about a 1/4 inch) and there's hair growth stuff you can buy that will help. Your best bet is to go with the most natural products- Arbonne, for example has a hair growth product that works FAST (within a month or two) and it's guarenteed for 90 days, so you can get your $ back if it isn't working.

Also, things like relaxers and oils stunt hair growth- it's like sufficating your hair follicles!

So, just go as natural as possible. U R beautiful!

Best wishes!!!

Help in hair growth department please.?

check out blackhairmedia and longhaircare. Crown and glory technique. Braids is a good hair growth. But if you check out the sites especially BHM you find lots of information to help you grow healthy and long hair. Oh, stretch your relaxers 12 weeks or longer instead of 8 weeks. No brushing.

Lemon juice and hair?

i want my hair a little lighter

if i put lemon juice a lil of it in my hair with a little bit of water and sleep with it will it make my hair lighter my hair is lightish and darkish brokwn

nd can u use anylight or does it have to be sun

my hair is pretty healthy.

Lemon juice and hair?

Try Sun-In.

Itll make your hair lighter. :D

*has used it before, and has light brown hair*

Lemon juice and hair?

be very careful with the lemon juice! a friend of mine did that, and in her school picture, her hair turned out to look soooo yellow! it looked pretty yellow in real life too. i'd research it and make sure you know what you're doing. =)

Lemon juice and hair?

I know lemon juice alone will work with sunlight. Sun In also works. You can buy highlights in a box that are not expensive if you do not want to go to a salon. Use real lemons, not lemon juice in a bottle. I'm not sure it will work without the sun, but it seems that it would work with another source of heat.

Lemon juice and hair?

SunIN will damage your hair. If you want higlights go to the beauty supply shop and get a package for 4$ and some 30 volume mix it together and paint it on with a brush. (just lightly)

Lemon juice and hair?

Sara Paxton (celeb) gave advice on hair tips, and since she's a blonde she says that...

If you're blonde and your hair tends to look darker, pour some lemon juice on your head and after an hour, wash it out,and your hair looks blonder. Only use about 3-7 tbsp.

If your hair is thin,less.

If your hair is thick,more.

:]

Be very careful, don't use too much!

Lemon juice and hair?

use straight lemon juice, and would just use it to maybe highlight your hair. but after you put it on your hair, put a plastic bag(grocery or shopping bag will work) over your hair, then you can either use a blow dryer with high heat, set on low and just keep it blowing on your hair or on the bag that your hair is under i mean. the other way is with bag on hair, but out in the sun. i only recommend that when it's really hot out like summertime. but anyways it's the heat plus the juice on your hair that will lighten it, and it might take a little while. good luck!!!

My hair is always falling out?

I'm only 18 and for quite awhile now my hair falls out more and more. Wherever I go I seem to leave atleast a couple strands. Everytime I wear a new sweater I get a few strands on that. My bathroom and shower floor has tons of hair everywhere it is so annoying.

I think a lot of it has to do to the fact that its damaged from my flat iron. This is my best guess because the more hair I see on the floor, the more little short hairs I see poking up all over my head which would mean their literally just breaking off.

Is there some type of treatment that I can use to make my hair stronger and healthier. I just dont trust those shampoos that claim to make your hair do this and that.

I need something that works.

My hair is always falling out?

Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Since iron-deficiency anemia can also cause hair loss, make sure that you eat a well-balanced diet that includes a daily serving or two of iron-rich foods. Check out

how much did you straigned you hair when you were your younger?

Best do-it-yourself hair regrowth relaxer for relaxed hair?

Currently get my hair done with Dark n Lovely Hair relaxant (SUPER). Is there a better option that is healthier for the hair?

Also, is it easy to do it yourself?

Thanks!

Best do-it-yourself hair regrowth relaxer for relaxed hair?

All relaxers are the same, they contain the same chemicals and they all destroy the structure of the hair so technically there's no better option. I used to use dark %26amp; lovely but recently discovered Root Stimulators Olive oil relaxer and I have to say I was very pleased. My hair felt better but I think that had more to do with the conditioning product than the relaxer but still my hair felt better after it was relaxed than when i'd done it with dark %26amp; lovely. So could be worth giving a try.

Best do-it-yourself hair regrowth relaxer for relaxed hair?

Dr. Miracles or Creme of Nature relaxers works really well.

Im losing hair!?

I am losing a shocking amount of hair. I eat healthy and excersise. I wash my hair every other day. Do you think the shower water could have anything to do with it?

Im losing hair!?

No, but it could be your thyroid.*

Im losing hair!?

Are you stressed? That can cause your hair to fall out.

Im losing hair!?

Depends on how much you are losing, like whether or not it is in clumps. You would be suprised but losing anywhere from 25-100 strands a day is normal.

Im losing hair!?

NO.TRY ROGAINE,IT HELPS ALOT.

Im losing hair!?

That happens to alot of people when they change their diets. Don't worry your hair will stop falling out. Just make sure to get more Iron and Protien in you diet.

When I started eat healthy I lost alot of hair, but it's all grown back

Im losing hair!?

here are some of the reasons why you are losing hair:

-Disease. Diabetes, lupus and thyroid disorders can cause hair loss.

-Poor nutrition. Having inadequate protein or iron in your diet or poor nourishment in other ways can cause you to experience hair loss. Fad diets, crash diets and certain illnesses, such as eating disorders, can cause poor nutrition.

-Medications. Certain drugs used to treat gout, arthritis, depression, heart problems and high blood pressure may cause hair loss in some people. Taking birth control pills also may result in hair loss for some women.

-Medical treatments. Undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy may cause you to develop alopecia. After your treatment ends, your hair typically begins to regrow.

-Recent high fever, severe flu or surgery. You may notice you have less hair three to four months after events such as an illness or surgery. These conditions cause hair to shift rapidly into a resting phase (telogen effluvium), meaning you'll see less new hair growth. A normal amount of hair typically will appear after the growth phase resumes.

-Childbirth. Some women experience an increase in hair loss several months after delivering a baby. This is because during pregnancy the hair is shifted into an active growth state that then goes back to baseline soon after delivery. This increased hair loss usually corrects itself.

-Hair treatments. Chemicals used for dying, tinting, bleaching, straightening or perming can cause hair to become damaged and break off if they are overused or used incorrectly. Excessive hairstyling or hairstyles that pull your hair too tightly also can cause some hair loss. This is known as traction alopecia.

-Scalp infection. Infections such as ringworm can invade the hair and skin of your scalp, leading to hair loss. Once infections are treated, hair generally regrows. Ringworm, a fungal infection, can usually be treated with a topical or oral antifungal medication.

From my own experience, I lost hair when I was under severe stress, when I was taking antidepressive medication (I took Celexa for 8 months and I was getting bald), and when I had policystic ovarian symdrome.

The policystic ovarian symdrome is a good cause of it and this disease is due to hormonal unbalance. If none of these options seem to be your case, then check with your doctor and ask for ultrasom to check for policystic ovarian symdrome, that's how I found out I had this problem. I did a treatment and now everything is ok. Another symptom for this disease is acne. Some doctor will assume that this disease is linked to obessity, but in my case I've never been obese and it affected me as well.

Good luck and take care!

Im losing hair!?

Black hair, how do I return?

I had a really bad high light job, so I went to a hair stylist and she said I could either bleach it, or dye it black. I figured dying it black would be alot healthier for my hair. How will Black hair take to lighter shades? I have extremely long hair (( that is light brown naturally)) so " Waiting" for it to grow out is not an option, and I would prefer to not bleach it, seeing as thats what I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Black hair, how do I return?

If you go to a colorist, they will know how to do it in the healtiest way. For me, my colorist put together a couple of different hues mixed with her special stuff (don't know the actual name of it) and kept getting darker until she got to my normal color (black).

The color went over the highlights perfectly and you can't even tell the difference.

Black hair, how do I return?

well there are hair color removers, that remove hair color dyes..i recommend you use the tweezerman product, the one that's all natural and has good results and stars!

What are good ways to prevent hair damage?????????????????

I have straight hair that is fine but thick...it used to curl up at the ends but the weight of the hair has pushed them down and it looks real straight. What are good ways of keeping my hair straight and healthy without frizz? All advise appreciated.

What are good ways to prevent hair damage?????????????????

Some of the things you can do to prevent damage to your hair are very simple. Only wash it every 2-3 days, let it air dry instead of blow-drying it, put it in updos to protect the ends (buns, not ponytails), try not to brush it too much or play with it a lot. DON'T use curling irons or straighteners on it, and try to avoid "product" as much as possible.

You can find a lot of excellent information about growing and maintaining long, healthy, beautiful hair at The Long Hair Community forums. Below I've linked to two "starting out" article from that site with good advice for people new to really caring for their hair.

What are good ways to prevent hair damage?????????????????

Trim it and keep heat away. Put a serum on your hair for flyaways, and to maintain straight look dont shampoo everyday.

What are good ways to prevent hair damage?????????????????

Use a mild shampoo with no alcohol that won閳ユ獩 dry out the hair. Use the shampoo on scalp and roots. The ends get cleansed while rinsing.

Use a conditioner or a cream rinse every time after shampooing. Conditioners soften the hair while adding nutrients and give the hair a shine. Cream rinse provides a light conditioning, detangle the hair and still give it shine.

Dry the hair carefully: use a wide toothed, hard rubber or plastic comb (metal breaks the hair) to gently detangle the hair. Ideally one should allow the hair to dry at least partially on its own.

Gently dry the hair with towel before blow-drying. Hold hair dryer at least six inches away from head to minimize heat damage

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

as an african american, my hair is very thin and dry and unhealthy and my scalp ithces sometimes. i want maneageable, bouncy hair that is healthy too. help please?

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

In my opinion, Mizani has the best shampoos and conditioners for African American/Textured hair! It ranks #1 on my list!

Being that your hair is very thin, you only want to use a deep cleansing shampoo, followed by an application of conditioner from mid shaft to the ends of your hair! Make sure you don't leave it on too long or it will weigh your hair down! Try to keep styling products away from your scalp also and remember that less is more when it comes to product application! You should use a mousse by Paul Mitchell in their extra body collection and a creme hairdress by Vitapointe! It's really good and a little goes a long way, trust me!

Take care!

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

you have alot going on the first step is to look into a product line called kitikiti; they have shampoo and conditioners as well as hair oils that adress the problems you stated you are having w/your hair. if that does not work you should see a dermatologist b/c you may have a skin condition in your scalp and he can prescribe you something that can help.

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

Try GARNIER FRUCTIS for more manageble hair. Theres LONG and STRONG and ANTI-DANDRUF SHAMPOO. Try doing a deep conditioner too.

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

Well I am African American I have highlights in my hair so I use Bed Head "Dumb Blonde" shampoo (pink bottle) its really good because it doesnt strip your hair of all of its mositure. Then I follow up with Bed Head Reconstructioner conditioner. I put a shower cap on and let it sit for about 45 mins. Then rinse. You may wanna look into taking hair vitamins as well b/c that will help your hair to from the inside out.

Whats the best shampoo or straightner for african american hair?

Best shampoo and conditioner is Creme of Nature or Mane 'N Tail .

Relaxers Revlon Realistic, Hawaiian Silky, Dr. Miracles Relaxers work really well.

Can anyone give me tips to stop the hairfall and to grow a healthy hair ?

EAT HEALTHIER

- Stay away from salty food

- Eat more vitamins and proteins

STOP COLORING AND OVER PROCESSING YOUR HAIR

- Reduce dying your hair especially BLEACHING

- Reduce perming

- You shouldn't blow dry your hair everynight, it's better to air dry it

- You shouldn't over brush your hair

- You shouldn't frequently use hot curlers or straighteners (it will dry your hair)

Hair falling could be heredity or because of stress, and sometimes could be because of the season

- Try to reduce stress and live a healthier life

- Try to buy the right products for the season for an example during winter your hair may seem flatter buy volumnizing products or summer your hair may be greasier wash your scalp more

- Get trims every 2-4 months so your hair will remain healthy

- Buy good shampoo/conditioner, deep condition your hair once a week (Today I bought a product called Ojon Restorative Treatment ranked #1 hair treatment in Sephora) I would recommend that product if you would like your hair to grow stronger, shinier, and healthier even your hair hair is very damaged... I've also seen their products have hair volumnizing which you should check out but it is very pricy the product I bought was $55 and it is a certain type of oil you rub on your scalp til' the end

those are just some tips, don't worry my hair has thinned out in the past because I use to bleach and have also perm my hair which made it fall out, but now that I have left it alone for a year while deep conditioning and trimming it, it is becoming thicker

so if you had thick hair in the past, your hair follicles will eventually grow out good luck

1. Rinse hair with coconut milk-leave it in or 5-10 mins and finally wash throughly. Once a week for good results.

Alternatively, use coconut oil on scalp, massage gently. To be use between 9.00am - 4.00pm (Old wives tale suggest that leaving it too long causes flu) rinse thoroughly.

There are many reasons for hair fall. I would like to highlight only few:

1. Don't use anti dandruff shampoos

2. Use plain coconut oil instead of the branded ones

3. Have oil massage for your scalp one hour before hair wash

4. Apply the paste of egg white, henna and try coffee powder as it gives blackish glow

5. Use soft shampoos like pantene, sunsilk (my opinion)

6. Don't use shampoo directly while hairwash but mix it with water

7. Use the right conditioner

8. Have two three hair washes a week

9. Cover hair on exposure to direct sunshine

10. Drink plenty of water, healthy food, fruits are the best

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

I want to buy one of those hair dying kits but i need some tips on how to do it. i want to dye my dark brown hair red...so do i need to bleach it??? My hair is pretty healthy so im not worried bout damaging it.

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

No, just follow the instructions on the box step by step. Don't leave the gunk in your hair too long.

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

Do NOT bleach it. You can not put red colors on bleached hair, they will turn Pink. You can buy the red of your choice and apply it. All depending on the brightness of red, if you're hair is dark, it may not be as light as shown in the picture. If you are going to do it yourself, I would suggest a burgandy, because on dark hair that color comes out almost true to it's shade. Auburn or copper, you may just end up orange. Hope that helps!

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

No No No.. no bleaching involved. If you can, since it's your first time, get someone else to try and help you apply it. If not, it's pretty easy. Follow the directions on the box and slowly apply from roots to tips and rub in your hair and pile it up in the top of your head [you can use a clip too]. When you rinse it out, don't shampoo it, use the conditioner they give you after you rinse out all the color and leave it in for 5 minutes or so. Use a towel you don't care about too...I would reccomend applying Vaseline not on your hairline, but around it so you don't get dye on your skin. It's not a big deal if you do. Have fun!

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

Buy namebrand and read the damn directions! Yeah put bleach on dark brown hair, it will be orange you nutter!

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

im a stylist, been doing hair for 7 years. i do not recommend box hair dye. it has a lot of metallic dyes in them.. if you are going to do it use a semi permanent. something that washes out. do not use permanent dye. if you have blonde hair, you can not just go put a dark color over it and have it looked ok. there is a step inbetween called a fill..if you are only going a shade or 2 darker, you can skip the fill.. if you do need a fill have it done professionally!

How To Dye My Hair At Home.?

you should never say "i'm not worried about damaging my hair" if you're using a home hair-dyeing kit. if your hair is light enough for it to show, i suggest using henna. http://www.hennaforhair.com/

there you'll find people who have made henna (with indigo %26amp; amla) mixes for your kinda hair color. it's also much more healthier for your hair (so you can keep it healthy!). and it'll look super natural.

Hair Products...?

I have really coarse think hair, and have to wash it about twice a day now because it feels so greasy. My hair is TOO healthy and the extra nutrients in shampoo are making it greasy. Does anyone know a shampoo product that would work for me?

Hair Products...?

i would say stop washing it so much #1! exas washing makes your hair more coarse and greasy!

if u just rinse it, its another story but too much shampooing casues it to break more easily %26amp; become dry

same with conditioning, but it can also take an opposite affect making it exesivly greasy and oily.

Is getting your hair press healthier then getting a perm for black girls?

Neither is healthy. Relaxing the hair breaks down the protein bonds and if you continue to get them, it leads to very porous hair, alopecia and breakage, not to mention chemical burns. Continuously pressing the hair or pressing the hair with too much heat can actually permanently relax the hair, causing damage to hair the same way chemical relaxers do. If you have natural hair, wear styles that compliment your natural texture. Having natural hair is NOT a bad thing. Its beautiful! I know I love mine!

Is getting your hair press healthier then getting a perm for black girls?

well i don't think either one is very good for your hair---but i would definitely reccomment pressing, because perms have many chemicals that can break and damage your hair, and once you get a perm, you have to keep getting them and getting them, and pretty soon your hair will start to feel like horse hair or something! Stick to pressing!

Is getting your hair press healthier then getting a perm for black girls?

I think that getting a relaxer (perm) constantly is never healthy to you hair. Although having your hair pressed is an alternative you still have to watch how much heat you apply to you hair.

Is getting your hair press healthier then getting a perm for black girls?

I would think pressed would be healthier.

Is getting your hair press healthier then getting a perm for black girls?

pressing since once you get a perm you gotta stick to it and it takes awhile to get back to natural hair

My hair length..please help?

my hair is about shoulder length and i want it to grow long so i can stop wearing hair extensions. how fast does hair grow ? my hair isnt really healthy because i straighten it. how long do you think it will take to grow down to the curve in my back? thanks

My hair length..please help?

about an year or so

My hair length..please help?

I had the same prob.

1.) trim often

2.) at night do circuler motions with the top soft part of your fingers...to make it oily, to grow faster

3.) everyone's hair grows at different paces, but mine grows about an inch every 2 months.

get those extensions out, they ruin your hair!!

My hair length..please help?

Some people's hair just isn't strong enough to get really long before it breaks off. I've never been able to get mine much longer than just past my shoulders. It might help if you didn't straighten your hair as much. But if your hair is that strong, it'll probably take about a year to a year and a half.

My hair length..please help?

i mean you will have to take care of your hair and have it done and you now .

My hair length..please help?

Your problem is two fold. One you need to condition your existing hair (get rid of the extensions and stop straightening if you can. Trim off the excess scraggly ends). Second, you will need to "feed' the hair from within the body.

So, condition your scalp once a week with coconut, almond or olive oil (slightly heated to absorb better). Leave it in overnight and wash the next day...you could probably skip the conditioner since some of the oil will stay in. Next, is the diet...hair is basically protein. So a protein rich diet is best to nourish the hair roots from within the body (fish is a good source of protein and oil for your body). You will need to do this religiously for about a half year. You will see a difference in your hair texture AND length.

Good luck.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

When girls say they like a guy that takes care of his hair, do they mean:

A guy who keeps his hair clean and healthy (shampoos and conditions), keeps it tidy (so he doesn't look like a caveman), and retains natural color?

-or-

A guy who styles his hair (straightens/blowdries, and/or uses hair products) and possibly colors it?

.. I am not ONLY talking about scene guys. I'm talking guys (I'm a teen, so, teens) in general.

Many thanks in advance.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

When I say it I mean a guy who shampoos his hair and doesn't let it look all oily and full of dandruff and what-not. It'd help if he kept it tidy, I hate it when guys have really long hair because I've never seen one guy who knew what to do with the long hair, plus it ends up looking oily or gross.

As long as it looks nice and not really nasty I could care less about hair. xD Of course a nice style is always something good, but not a requirement.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

clean cut trimmed styled and soft

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

They mean guys that make their hair look cute. Like they acutally do something to it. They just don't wake up run a comb throught it and that's that. They acutally take time on their hair.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

umm it's a bit strange if a guy straighten and blow drys his hair. a bit on the homosexual side? but if that's what make hair look at least normal..then i guess it's okay.....

i think the first thing you said..just keeping your hair clean and healthy. and not having an ugly hair style.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

The first one. When i guy starts dying his hair...i start to wonder....the first one FOR SURE!

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

More on the styling part. I honestly don't care for dying your hair, I just enjoy a guy's natural hair color, but a guy who styles his hair is bound to catch some attention when walking into a room. keeping their hair clean and healthy is pretty nice also, but styling is a plus=] haha

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

I'm pretty sure we're talking about the first one.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

well i like a guy to wash his hair lol and keep it "tidy" and i like him to style it and i dont care if he colors his hair or doesnt color is hair....:)

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

i think both

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

yup the first one.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

Whatever looks good on him. And usually... clean.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

Truthfully its a choice. I prefer short cut hair, natural, brushed and washed. No big deal.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

It could be a combo of both.

ps to the person that posted the homosexual comment you're out of line. How a guy does his hair has nada to do w/his orientation. Grow up.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

The first one.. Maybe a combination of both, but the second guy seems too vain for me.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

Hair clean and healthy probably

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

First one, but long hair doesn't look too bad as long as the guy knows how to maintain it.

When girls say.. (Guy's Hair)?

When I say that, what I really mean is, "I really like how long (or at least *longer*) hair looks on guys...but not if its dirty-looking or matted."

Hair Shiner?!?

Ive been using Ghds for just under a year now and my hair is really dry and dull looking even though i trim it every 6 weeks. does anybody know a really good product to make my hair shiney and healthy looking? =]

Hair Shiner?!?

It sounds like you are lacking something internally. Check your salons around you and see if anyone offers the Chemistry System by Redken. This is a service that puts in what your hair is lacking, protein, moisture, protectants from chemical or mechanical daily maintenance. Your hairdresser will be able to determine what it is your hair is lacking. Also, for a day to day use, CHI shine spray is really good. Hope this helps!

Hair Shiner?!?

I use Clarol Shine Happy.. its in a box and found with the dyes.. its a leave in for 10 minutes and rinse out.. lasts about 4-6 weeks and makes my hair super shiny and healthy looking and also adds some dimension- bringing out the different shades in your hair)... i absolutely love it.. i do it about once a couple of months and it gives my hair that awesome kick it needs!

Hair Shiner?!?

They have really good products at the salon's. I would ask them with your texture etc what YOUR hair needs. Although, you tell us your hair is dry it could be thick and coarse. (I think I spelt that right). Anyways, there are certain shampoo's that work. Also, try switching your shampoo, generally if you use the same shampoo over and over again, it can leave your hair looking dry and icky! Pantene Pro V is famous for this!

Hair Shiner?!?

get a deep conditioning and use john frieda color glaze. also use born2be shine serum.

Letting my natural hair colour to grow out. What is the best option?

Hi! My hair was always my natural hair colour, a really nice medium brown colour until about 5 months ago when I decided to dye it black. When I dyed it I was immediately disgusted with the result and I washed my hair many many many times in a row and was able to strip out most of the dye. About a week later, my hair colour was a shade lighter than the original colour.. then I went through all summer out in the sun and my hair got even lighter.. now it looks extremely faded and gross and I know it's all because of that stupid dye-job I gave myself..

So I'm finally getting roots.. I have medium length hair.. I'd like to let my natural hair colour grow all the way out. What is the best option here? Should I just let it grow and have big roots (ew)? Should I cut my hair really short to get rid of all the faded, damaged hair and let it grow in from there? ...

Any suggestions or comments would be VERY MUCH appreciated!! I want my hair to look healthy again...

Letting my natural hair colour to grow out. What is the best option?

go to a salon and have them dye your hair back to as close to natural as possible but please don't try this yourself because you will be very dissappointed. this is the best solution with great results

Letting my natural hair colour to grow out. What is the best option?

You might want to consider a color gloss--you can either get it done at a salon or buy a kit at the drug store.

Basically, these are the low-ammonia/no peroxide variety of hair colors. Since they lack the ingredients that damage your hair they are far less damaging--they subsequently also have less "lift", meaning they won't strip your natural hair color.

Also, if you use it yourself I would suggest not dying your roots at all. If you get the right shade it should blend in a bit better than it is now.

Good luck!

Letting my natural hair colour to grow out. What is the best option?

just buy the same color as your roots....

and then eventually your hair will grow out with out those ugly roots...

Letting my natural hair colour to grow out. What is the best option?

Go and match your natural with a permanent colour . Redo colour than just let it grow. Loreal Creme is one of the best and adds shine too.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

I want to die my hair dark brown and i want to kno the healthiest way to die it so my hair doesnt look fryed...so it looks natural

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

if your going for the dark brown then any would be ok it's only if your bleaching your hair it will cause damage don't worry and enjoy the new you....

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

Your hair might be healthy, but it might also be green if you just choose any brown dye. Report It

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

Try henna... uhhh, LUSH has it :)

Or if not, get a regular store bought dye WITHOUT ammonia. That's what fries the hair. I think Garnier Fructis may have one?

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

try using a semi-permanent dye. they tend to be less harsh on the hair as most done have a peroxide base.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

you'll need expensive hair dye or go to a professional

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

go to a salon and have the stylist use Shades EQ or the equivalent - it's a semi-permanent with no amonia. it won't cost as much as a regular dye job but more than a drugstore box.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

No Henna or Metal dyes. I think color preference is good. If you can see a stylist that of course is the healthiest.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

i think the best way to dye hair is to get it professionally done. when you get it done tell them you want to make it look natural.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

A good hair stylist will make it look natural.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

proffesional salon.

they will put a deep conditioner in it.

Or you can get one here.

http://www.folica.com/Hair_Color_553_1.h...

Then along the sides it has all the catergories in which you search in.

make shure to read information about it %26amp; the reviews..

If any.

I highly reccommend going here its cheaper for high quality stuff!

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

for do it yourself color, probably henna or a semi or demi permant. make sure it has no metals though, and dont switch back and fourth between types of hair color. Get more advise if you get a perm, or have one. Tell your stylist if you use henna before getting professional color. For the 1st application, do whole hair. For every application after, do roots for 1st 75-90% of time, then add the rest of the color to your ends. once you do this, there is no wat to go back to natural unless you grow it out.

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

I'm partial to henna, which can be bought at health food stores and even Sally's Beauty Supply has it. Unlike professional dyes, it doesn't contain amonia or peroxide. Also, the brown hennas don't look like they've come from a bottle.

Definitely wotth trying!

Healthiest way to die your hair...?

its best to get it done professionally, although dark is easier than light..

what colour is your hair though? if its blonde, then you will struggle because it needs pre pigmentation to prevent it having a green tinge (they dye it red first).. so if your lfair, then you need a salon really..

(if you decide to do it anyway, just make sure you choose a brown with some warmth to it, like chestnut or similar)

also, shop bought colours, usually come out scarily darker than you would expect.. so if you want dark brown, you need to buy brown really.. and so on..

from the point of view of healthier, a semi permanent would work fine, and as they fade gradually, you dont have the issue of roots to retouch so often.

A good name brand for a hair rinse for African American hair...?

...I was told I have to put a rinse in my hair because the color in my hair is really breaking my hair off. I think I will do a dark brown. Can someone recommend a brand that is healthy for african american hair? also what are good shampoos and deep conditioners?

Also, do I have to have a hair dryer?

( do not have the cash to pay $70 to get my hair done professionally right now so this will be done by myself)

A good name brand for a hair rinse for African American hair...?

My grandma is a stylist and she uses jazzing.

Its in a bottle so you can use it more than once.

http://www.sallybeauty.com/Jazzing+Sheer...

As for shampoo and conditioner, I use garnier fructis length and strength.

閳?br>A good name brand for a hair rinse for African American hair...?

idk about the rinse but for the breakage you should try aphogee... i got it from sallys beauty supply...idk if they have one around where your from but you can probably find iit on the internet

you just need to follow the directions... i hope this works

A good name brand for a hair rinse for African American hair...?

Sorry don't know any good name brand hair rinses. A good shampoo and conditioner is:

Shampoo:

:Creme of Nature Ultra Moisturizing

:Neutrogena Triple Moisturize Lather

Conditioner:

:Olive Oil Replenishing Pak

:Organic Root Stimulator Hair Mayo

:Nuetrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask

:Nexxus Humectress

The first two conditiners I mentioned are protein conditioners and the other two are just moisturizing conditioners. Alternate week to week between a protein conditioner and moisturizing conditioner for about a month until your hair gets into relatively good shape. Then you can start doing just moisturizing treatments with one protein treatment once or twice a month. To many back to back protein treatments can make the hair hard and break it off.

How to lighten my hair?

I have naturally brown hair. More than 6 months ago I dyed it dark brown/black. The color has since faded, but is still quite dark, although I can see some of my blondish/reddish highlights peeking through.

I'd like to color it myself to a light brown for the summer. Any way I can do this without the salon. My hair is very healthy, BTW.

How to lighten my hair?

I have to agree with the first two answers. If you're looking for a natural no chemical way to change the color of your hair spend some time in the sun.

I have spent the last week staining our backyard deck. In that short period of time my hair has went from a medium to a very light blonde and that's without any products to lighten it. If you want to speed the process along though I think there are products that you can spray on to lighten your hair a little faster.

How to lighten my hair?

bleach it in the sun just stay outside for a long time

How to lighten my hair?

Go out in the sun a lot, like for a whole week, put on sun screen and just like walk around or do a sport or go swimming with your hair down, and it will eventually get lighter.

How to lighten my hair?

I would go simple, do NOT us sun-in trust me your hair since it is dark right now might turn orange, or an orange color. I would go simple with lemon juice and the sun it should bring out some natural highlights.

How to lighten my hair?

try using loreal color pulse...a light brown color and use products like Jerome Russell's Temporary Color Spray,to bring out your highlights...

hope this helps

alana:)

Wanting curly hair?

i have brown hair ,and its straight but i want a perm to have curly hair.. is it healthy or does it damage your hair?

Wanting curly hair?

anything that uses chemicals to eff with the bonds of yr natural hair will cause at least a little damage. but as long as you keep up w/ it, you'll be fine.

Wanting curly hair?

it dries it out a little bit, but if you have any other colors like highlights or dye it really damages it

Wanting curly hair?

i wouldn't get a perm. you'll regret it. but if you want to try curly hair try scrunching it with moose or gel. try to get scrunching gel for curly hair. it might not work but some people don;t even know that their hair can do that until they try it. good luck!

Wanting curly hair?

I have curly hair...it is a pain in the butt

big time

I am getting a stright perm for mine to take the curl out!!

but it is ur choice

Wanting curly hair?

I dont think you'll want curly hair... its really annoying. but since some people look soo good in curly, it might be good on you too. First try to curl it yourself and if you feel that its nice enough do it.

Good supplements for hair?

my hair is very shiny and stronge and ive started dying it blonde. Can anyone recommend suppemts for my hair?Ive already going to buy Brewers yeast and ive got a skin, hair and nails vitamins.

So could anyone recommend supplements to keep hair strong and healthy other than the brewers yeast

I do all the usual stuff of using hair oils, conditions, moisterising shampoos etc.

But other than supplements anyone got any good tips? thanks a lot.

Good supplements for hair?

Give it a trim every 6 weeks and stop bleaching it for a while. There's nothing more you can do, just leave it to grow and get its body back. Eating oily fish and nuts can help your skin and hair. Try and stick to natural products that don't have too many chemicals in them. Coconut oil is good to rub onto the ends of clean dry hair (hair oiling), it coats it and protects it as well as helps keep the frizzies at bay. I do it and it helps. Also when you wash your hair concentrat on the roots and not so much on the ends so you don't wash too much of the natural oil out. Oh, and Biotin is said to help hair grow.

Good supplements for hair?

Kelp should keep your hair in good condition. Get it in Health Shops

Good supplements for hair?

get mega vits for the hair from holland and barrets

Good supplements for hair?

I have great success by taking MSM in pure powder form. It takes about 4 weeks for it to kick in. You have to take it with 1 g of Vit C a day. The amount of MSM to take is 2 g two times a day for it to stimulate hair growth well. But you have to start at a lower dose like 500 mg two times a day. Then increase to 1000 mg 2x a day, and then 2000 mg 2x a day. Try for a week and if you feel ok, then you can increase your dose. It's good for hair among other things. It has a detox effect, too. Also try taking Horsetail supplement. Drink protein shakes, or eat more protein will help a lot, too. I bought my pure MSM from an ebay seller, but you can also get it from www.msm-msm.com. Also, Biotin is supposed to be really good for your hair and skin and nails. Silica will make your hair soft.

Good supplements for hair?

There is something about prenatal vitamins that is good for hair growth, and the vitamins work internally, so it must be good for the strength and health of your hair as well... I also use Gelatin ... like in Jello! It is good to drink, to eat cold, and it has protein that is great for your nails and hair! You are doing the best thing you can already by keeping it moisturized and conditioned! Keep it going ok! Good luck!

Good supplements for hair?

keep your mind healthy.

Good supplements for hair?

Wheat germ is said to be really good for your hair.

Good supplements for hair?

From what I have been able to find...

The following minerals and supplements help with hair growth, slow greying, strengthen your hair and prevent hair loss.

Biotin, nettles, silica, gamma linolenic acid, L-cystine, L-arginine, selenium, L-lysine, royal jelly, PABA, panthothenic acid, inositol, choline, cider vinegar, magnesium, zinc, L-tyrosine, vitamin E and C.

Be very careful though as some of these are B complex vitamins and found in multivits. B complex vits are not readily dispelled from your body and can accumulate to toxic levels. If you think you have come up with a good combination, write all the information down and take it to your doctor to ensure that you will not be overdosing yourself. Also, if you are not familiar with supplenemts, I would highly recommend that you just buy a hair formula multivit that are widely available.

Good luck.

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

29 year old female, who wants thicker, fuller, healthier looking hair

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

pros

______

thicker hair

can choose another colour hair other than your own

u can choose differrent lengths

not permanant so if it looks bad its not for too long

cons

______

expensive

can damage hair

it may take a while to do

u must maintain

the weave track may show

its not your own

i wear a full weave and i know the pros and cons but im

black so its easier to manage then my own hair

good luck

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

Well, "Sassiest Princess", that's a good question. One con that jumps out at me is the huge "tacky factor". Because hair extensions are very tacky. I am unaware of any pros. Have a nice day!

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

use some volumizing shampoo, blow dry it full, and go to a salon every now and then to add volume. I wouldn't get a weave!!

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

Hair weaves can be very expensive, if you get a professional one. You can get a weave sewn in or glued in. If sewn too tight it can pull your hair out, but sewn last a lot longer. If glued in it is easier to come out, but a lot cheaper. Ask your hair stylist about the differences or get on the net and do some research. Good luck!

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

if your hairdresser knows anything about cutting hair, i'm sure she/he can give you exactly what your looking for without getting fake hair. ask them to cut your hair in a way that will make it much thicker, volumous, and fuller. if they can't do that, either your hair just can't appear thicker, or you should find a new hairdresser. good luck :)

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

heres for temp hair extentions

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUG7hyD-U...

pros:weave glue and its not permanent

cons:long pretty full thick hair

i think i got them mixxed up

tlk to a stylist

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

Weaves are not very tacky when done properly.

I think that girl needs to stop watching VH1.

I have clip in extentions.

You can get them at a local wig shop.

They're amazing.

You just clip them in (you have to play with it first to find out where they look best) and you're ready to go.

No hair damage!

They can be straightened, washed, curled, and dyed to match your exact hair color.

They come in a variety of colors so you just pick the one closest to yours.

A small set should do you which costs $100.

A larger set is $200.

It's what a lot of celebrities are using :]

I'm thinking about getting a hair weave. What are the pros and cons? Cost? Etc.?

The pros on this are are reletively few unless you have this done by someone who has perfected this process over years of working with weaves. That fact alone will make the process more costly than if you chose someone with little experience. I am not an advocate of weaves because of the cons and there are far too many, in my opinion. First off, most weaves are overdone and most people cannot carry the abundance of hair they find themselves with. There is also a fair amount of damage that is done to your hair through the process. This comes from pulling your hair as taught as possible in order to get the other hair woven in smoothly. Depending on the type of knot they use, the strain on the scalp is enormous and your hair can begin to fall out, especially around the hairline areas. Weaving also dictates that you return to the salon every 2 weeks or so to have the weave tightened because of the new growth of your hair. Again, more strain on the scalp and hours of sitting in the chair, depending on how much is done.

Unless you have extraordinarily thin hair, I would recommend extensions rather than a full weave. This process is not as damaging to your own hair. You will still have to go back about once a month, depending on how you wear your hair. Remember that hair doesn't all grow at the same time. Your hair falls out daily and begins new growth daily. That is why one needs to have their hair cut about once every 4-6 weeks. If one doesn't do that, they will then find their hair much harder to manage and style on a daily basis. You will need a haircut no matter which procedure you choose so that really is a wash (no pun intended!).

Whatever you choose to do make certain you see actual photo's of their clients first. People who do great work are proud of the end result and have many photo's to prove it. You may also ask to come in and watch a weave or tightening be done. If they balk at that request, run fast and go elsewhere!

If hair is dead then why does it need vitamins? Is it just another scam by the cosmetics industry?

I mean, I understand how hair is kept 閳ユ窏ealthy閳?because of the oils that are naturally produced by the body and if you don閳ユ獩 produce enough it would be good for your hair to give it hydrating oils and creams that would smooth the cuticle layers to keep it from fraying and frizzing but does giving it 閳ユ钒itamins閳?really do it any good?

How can a 閳ユ窉ead閳?cell use nutrients?

When you apply hydrating creams to your skin you are both hydrating the LIVE cells and helping remove the dead ones so I understand vitamins in Body Lotions but for hair? It doesn閳ユ獩 make any sense to me.

Any thoughts on this?

If hair is dead then why does it need vitamins? Is it just another scam by the cosmetics industry?

The same could be said for leather.... it's dead cow hide. However, leather treatments also tend to have natural oils and some vitamins (like vitamin E) to help it last longer, retain more moisture, and be more resistant to elemental damage.

Vitamins and other nutrients don't have to be for the health of only living organisms.... they help a lot more things, even those that are dead.

Hair is simply thin strands of cells that can get damaged from time, sun, wind, and all sorts of other things that damage cells (whether living or dead). The cells can still get benefits from certain nutrients, even if they aren't alive to use them to grow or reproduce (which is basically what living cells use them for).

There are also some creams/shampoos that have nutrients in them not for the health of your hair, but for the health of your scalp. Biotin, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E are a few of those common nutrients for the health of your scalp and the hair follicles (which are alive) that grow hair.

If hair is dead then why does it need vitamins? Is it just another scam by the cosmetics industry?

it's the skin that produces the hair, also known as the scalp, that uses the nutrients to produce stronger hair.

If hair is dead then why does it need vitamins? Is it just another scam by the cosmetics industry?

Well I think not. The 1st thing you would have to do is cut the dead hair off,an then start to use the vitamins. I guess

If hair is dead then why does it need vitamins? Is it just another scam by the cosmetics industry?

Actually, the ROOT part of the follicle is still alive - so these need to be nourished in order to encourage strong growth, etc. ;););)

Help with scrunching Hair!!?

Ok, so I really want my hair to be able to be scrunched... here we go. I have long, naturally curly, darkish-brown hair. I am abled to straighten and curl and un-frizz and everything except scrunch. I also have medium thick hair, its very healthy because I get a trim every two months, and it's really pretty. I just want to be able to scrunch... please help! %26lt;3

Help with scrunching Hair!!?

i use alberto v05 mousse or herbal essences. once you get out of the shower, flip your hair over, work the mousse throught your hair from the roots to the tips and after making sure all your strands are coated, use your hands and scrunch your hair. almost like grabbing a chunk and letting go, grabbing a chunk and letting go and so on. flip your hair over and then use your fingers to fluff up parts that look a little flat. make sure you scrunch your hair really good on the sides and in the back, otherwise you will just have stiff, straight hair instead of curly. make sure you let your hair air dry and don't touch it too much because then it will get frizzy.

Help with scrunching Hair!!?

get the aussie sprunch spray

Help with scrunching Hair!!?

My hair is really thick so what I do is when it is wet I flip my hair to were I am bending over with my head down and I get gel and you just like squeeze your hair like your grabbing it and you do that to all your hair. Then you get hairspray and put that all over. I use a lot of this because I have so much hair and my hair is very long. That should work for you. Hope I helped.

Help with scrunching Hair!!?

If I were you I would go to a salon and see if they will do it for you and ask them to show you how to do it right so when you are getting ready to go out or something then you will now how to do it.

Cutting hair ensures health growth?

I'm very excited about cutting my shoulder length hair as short as I can be comfortable with. My hair is very damaged and my hairdresser told me that if I cut all of the damaged hair off which is a lot I can be sure my hair will grow back long and healthy. That's what I want. I'm already looking at short hair styles. Will my hair grow back healthy? Has anyone done this before? What do you think about short hair?

Cutting hair ensures health growth?

hey 1st of all yeah ur hair dressers ryt 2nd thing once ur hair start

Cutting hair ensures health growth?

i think you should cut your hair short if it's really damaged...try giving it a hot oil treatment as well to soften your hair and...and when it grows back, it looks waaayy prettier!

Cutting hair ensures health growth?

Cutting your hair does not make it grow faster, that is one of the biggest lies in haircare.Your hair doesn't grow from your ends,it grows from your scalp,so how could that possibly be true?

It is very important to keep the ends of your hair healthy, especially if you use heat on your hair, but don't cut your hair just in an attempt to get it to grow faster, because it won't.If you want it to grow faster and heathier,I suggest taking hair vitamins daily:http://www.salonweb.com/hair_vitamins.ht...

Hope this helps you!

Cutting hair ensures health growth?

Not really.

You need to start messaging your scalp with a hair oil that contains natural herbs, vitamins and minerals. Using the balls of your fingers message the hair oil in. This wil help the blood to circulate which stimulates the hair follicles which promotes hair growth.

I tried it and this method does work.

Also to ensure healthy hair limit your use of heated hair appliances. they cause the hair to become dry and brittle and then eventually break off.

Try not to use hair brushes. They cause the hair to stretch and snap off.

Comb your hair with an extra wide tooth comb.

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

My hair is incredibly unruly, and it WILL NOT listen to me. I have wavy brown hair that goes down about 6inches past my shoulders, and I hmave forever been trying to straighten it. My usual routine is to put straightening cream in it, then blow dry and straighten with a straightener a few times. this kinda works, but takes a while and I'd like to be able to do it faster. Does anyone have any ideas to make it faster and more healthy for my hair? Thanks!

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

One of my closest friends has the same type of hair as you. She got it permanetly straightened. Now her hair looks great, however it's pretty pricey to do it in the U.S.

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

get the wet to dry straightener at wal-mart 閳?br>I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

haircut

your hair is probably made from split ends

or japanese hair straightening

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

go to a salon see what they recomend they might even give you a list of hair products

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

well i have two options for you...

layers. for some reason straightening is much easier when there are multiple layers in it...

secondly: there is this AMAZING product called Enjoy. It's a three part straightening system only available in certain salons.

to start... there's a straightening serum you apply to wet hair... then blow dry.

after blow drying you continue to straighten with the "shine locked" hair spray.

thirdly, you apply a dry serum which adds shine and tames frizz.

i love it. i swear by it.

I have severe hair trouble... HELP!!!!!!!?

get your hair cut to take all the dead ends off. also, be sure to give your hair a break sometimes. constantly blow drying and straightening your hair, even if it is the healthiest hair in the world, will damage your hair like no other. i have wavy hair as well, but i wear my hair wavy. i love my wavy hair. i use herbal essences shampoo, conditioner, and scrunching gel for curly/wavy hair (it's called totally twisted). try wearing your hair wavy at least once a week to give your hair a break from constant heat damage

I have thick blonde hair, wavy, straight or curly?

What would look best?

I can do all three, and my hair is pretty healthy, and it goes down to my chest when its straight. Lots of layers.

I have thick blonde hair, wavy, straight or curly?

I think all 3 would work... it depends on how you want to look.

Straight=sexy

wavy or broken up curls=fun

banana curls=cute

thats my opinion anyway

I have thick blonde hair, wavy, straight or curly?

try wavy, it'll look natural, pretty, and beachy.

I have thick blonde hair, wavy, straight or curly?

wavy

I have thick blonde hair, wavy, straight or curly?

i'd say wavey. especially with all the layers.

My hair won't grow!!?

I have been growing out my hair from the nape of my neck down to 3 inches past my shoulder for 6 months, and it seemed to have stopped growing? Is there just a certain point where induvidual's hair stops growing or is my hair just not healthy? Any recomendations to make it grow? Thank you!

My hair won't grow!!?

Don't listen to anyone else... this is the answer. ( People don't know what they are talking about, and base their answers on here-say and myths. HAIR ON YOUR HEAD NEVER JUST STOPS GROWING AT A CERTAIN POINT- that is only body hair!

The only thing you can do to make your hair actually GROW faster is to take vitamins... preferablly prenatal. These vitamins will increase production of the hair cells. There is no other way to get your hair follicle to grow more hair except with taking vitamins.

Thats the only-only-only way you can INCREASE the rate of growth.

However, remember to always get your hair trimmed ( This is why people say there hair doesnt "Grow".. If you have split ends, and dont trim, your hair itself will be growing, but the spilt ends break off and your hair remains to look the same length. Thats why people think their hair stopped growwing, but in fact, it is just the dead ends breaking off.

Also, try not to wash your hair/striaghten/curl EVERYDAY, because that will lead to increased split ends. Reduce the amount of heat styling you do. Whenever possible, let your hair dry naturally. Technically, if you put your hair up everyday and never washed it, never blew dry it , it would probably grow one inch flat every month. Its the things we do that cause split ends, which cause breakup and hair "stand-stills of growth"

Most of the products on the market that claim to speed up hair growth, really are just preventing split ends. there is a widely known hair oil, mainly found in India, that people swear by, Basically it is just a really strong oil that used frequently, really hydrated the hair to the point where you rarely get split ends. (Thus perhaps being able to extend the times of needed to trim). But there is no PRODCUT besides viatims that can actually accelerate the RATE of growth.

My hair won't grow!!?

Drink distilled Aloe Vera from the health food store. You can take Co-Q 10 as well. One promotes healthy hair while the other helps repair cells.

My hair won't grow!!?

You should buy mane and tail shampoo it seriously works. I used to use it and my hair was down the middle of my back. It's originally for horses however it is sold in the people shampoo aisle. It will work seriously!!

My hair won't grow!!?

well do what most black girls like me do when our hair just wont grow .....put in some human weave

My hair won't grow!!?

well here is what you should do ..... i do this also and it helps. Every 2 weeks clip a little bit of hair of the ends, so then it will gorw longer everytime... BUt only cut a little tiny bit kk? lol ^^

My hair won't grow!!?

your hair isn't healthy try using the same brand and scent shampoo and conditionar ... personally i use Suave coconut shampoo and conditionar

My hair won't grow!!?

It's true that hair stops growing at a certain point, and everyone's is different. Hair goes through different stages, and some people's growth stage is shorter than others. If your hair seems healthy, and you're not getting it cut too often, this is probably as long as your hair will get. If you have split ends and aren't getting them trimmed, your hair is growing, but breaking off at the ends. Getting your ends trimmed won't help your hair grow longer or faster. But, if your split ends aren't cut off, they will just keep splitting up your hair shaft, and will eventually break off, therefore making it seem like your hair isn't growing.

My hair won't grow!!?

Wash your hair every two-weeks. Your hair grows better when it is cleaned and conditioned often. Keep your ends trimmed and wrap your hair in a satin hair wrap at night to prevent breakage. Use a good daily hair dress or conditoner to keep your hair and scalp moisturized.

My hair won't grow!!?

Hair growth has nothing to do with you hair being healthy.

Hair growth has to do with your body being healthy.

I'm sure your hair hasn't stopped growing. Hair grows an average of 1/2" a month, of course this varies from person to person.

Start eating healthier food, drink plenty of water and take your vitamins and you'll start to see more growth.

For my clients who wish to grow their hair out, I usually have them buy a product from GNC called Hair, Skin and Nails. It is a natural supplement that has a keratin compound (which is what your hair and nails are composed of). Some have had a great deal of success with it.

And finally get regular haircuts, every 6 - 8 weeks to keep the ends healthy.

My hair won't grow!!?

Vitamins are essential for proper hair growth. For healthy sebum in the scalp we require vitamin A. Graying and loss of hair is arrested with the intake of Vitamin B6 and B12. Keratin is produced by Biotin and hair follicles are kept healthy by inositol. Panthothenic acid and Para-amino benzoic acids are also beneficial. These vitamins are present in fruits such as lemon, pineapple and strawberry and in vegetables such as potato.

Nowadays there are products containing the required vitamins and nutrients that can be applied externally like oils and shampoos; or there are tablets that can be taken internally to enhance hair growth.

My hair won't grow!!?

When it comes to having beautiful, full hair my best answer would be henna. Make sure you don't use lemon or lime juice in your recipe when you make the henna as they can cause your hair to break if it's already weak. Rain water is usually acidic enough to get a nice colour out of the henna as well and won't harm your hair further. Try using the henna as often as you can it should thicken your hair and keep it healthy. If you don't want the red of the henna you may want to look for "neutral" or "colourless" henna. It will do as nice a job for your hair but without the colour. With the neutral henna you just have to mix it with tap water, this should be used as often as possible. If there are any skin problems on your scalp the henna or neutral henna will both help fight it. The last idea I have would be to take coconut oil and massage your head with it every night. once a week b4 u shampoo do a hotoil massage using cocunut oil and leave it on ur hair for 1 hr or even overnute next morning shampoo hair Make sure when you're washing out the oil you're using a gentle shampoo, likea henn a shampoo even better shikakai powder. I wish you luck.

My hair is at a stand still?

My hair is pretty healthy, i get it trimmed every like 3 months, but it seems to have stopped growing, My hair usually grows pretty fast so i was wodering if there was any tricks to get it to grow agian??

My hair is at a stand still?

Hi, Im a student in the field of cosmetology,

Nothing can really make your hair grow longer. Ive looked. But there are things you can do to help it.

One thing is that if you straighten or use irons on your hair, like myself, deep condition your hair ALOT! I do it two to three times a week! Even if you dont have a deep conditioner you can use regular conditioner on your hair for an hour or more, this also works nicely. My hair became really strong after this.

Vitamins help too! Take a multivitamin and a vitamin B-complex.

Do not color your hair alot! It weakens your hair causing it to snap off. If you do need to though, dont forget to condition, condition, condition!!! Dont forget bleaching! That is one of the worste things you could do!!

Cutting your hair doesnt make it grow faster!!! All that does is remove the split ends.

Massage your scalp regularly, this helps with growth!! It helps circulate blood flow in the scalp, with premotes hair growth.

Hope this information was helpful :)

My hair is at a stand still?

I have an answer for you about how to strighten out yer hair. If you get another perm solution and put it in yer hair and just plain comb it...it will take the curly perm out...I did that to mine when I didn't like a perm that I had....It works good. Report It

My hair is at a stand still?

Try prenatal vitamins. They help your hair and nails.

My hair is at a stand still?

The hair grows in cycles and now may just be a slow time for you also, if you have excess stress that can cause a slow down on your hair. You need to eat well and get enough sleep that helps alot also. : )

My hair is at a stand still?

I've heard scalp massage works.

Help with hair!?

Ok, I have colored treated blonde hair, with brown low-lights in it. I go to the salon every 8 weeks and get just my roots touched up, but my hair is very fine, and fragile, and it breaks at nothing. I don't look good with my natural color of hair which is like a dirty brown, and I want my hair to look healthy, and have a great texture. Does anyone know anything that will improve the texture and strength of my hair? Plz help! Thanks :-)

Help with hair!?

Nutrition is very important in having strong, shiny, healthy hair.

Take a really good multi-vitamin, like from a health food store, not one a day or Centrum.

Take a supplement called Biotin, it helps make hair strong and shiny.

Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and moderate amounts of lean proteins, to keep hair strong.

Make sure to consume some olive oil, canola oil, or sesame oil every day, either in cooking, salad dressings, or however you like it. Your hair needs the monounsaturated fat in these oils, plus they raise the good kind of cholesterol and lower the bad kind.

Do as little as possible to your hair. Avoid blow-drying, any styling products that contain alcohol, and pulling it back tightly (encourages breakage). The less you can do to it, the healthier and stronger it will be. If you can just comb it and pull it back loosely, at least while it's wet, that's the safest.

Good luck!

Help with hair!?

Definetly try some strenthening shampoo that is safe on color treated hair... I think Panteen, sunsilk, Garnier Fructis, John Frienda, all have strenghtion shampoos out there just look around, or ask your hairdresser.

Hope I helped.

I have straight hair, but it's always kind of fuzzy! What do I do to get it perfect?

I've tried going over it with a straightener, but that doesn't work. I've also used the John Frieda shampoo and products for "smoothing your hair". Nothing seems to be working. I want my hair to look healthy, shiney and smooth. Any advice???

I have straight hair, but it's always kind of fuzzy! What do I do to get it perfect?

I have the same type of hair... I use AVON Advance Techniques Straight and Sleek Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner (mostly because its cheap, but it helps a little).. and then after towel drying my hair i use "Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine" its a smoothing serum.. (also quite cheap).. it says to blow dry right after but you don't HAVE to .. you'll get same result letting it air dry.. (out of experience.. DON'T use it on dry hair, it just makes it look stringy and greasy and gross!)

Hope that helps!
